Sea World Carnivale is a celebration of culture and a night of fun.

Carnivale is a special event on the Sea World (Gold Coast, Australia) calendar which runs for approximately a month with tickets available on a variety of nights. This year, in 2022 it is running from January 29th until February 26th and we were lucky enough to be in Queensland with tickets available on the 29th January!

Quick little video of some of the street performers and Aqua Light Show at Carnivale.

The event started at 5.30pm and we arrived pretty much on time by bus from our hotel in Broadbeach.

There was a lot of activity around the park. A lot of street performers entertaining both small and big kids.

The park is separated out into “worlds”. This year the worlds were Mexico, Rio, Africa and New Orleans. Each area had it’s own performers and plenty of entertainment. There was a variety of food (although the lines were quite long at your traditional meal times which didn’t impress the hungry kids much), drinks (including alcohol) and you could use your refillable soft drink bottle as well (see my review on Movie World for information on refillable drinks).

They had the infinity show running (Dolphin show) and also the Aqua Light Show. We decided to attend the last Aqua Light Show for the evening and head home after that. All times are available in the themeparks app.

As I mentioned above, we caught the bus there and back. The park closed around 9.30 pm and buses were running way past that so we had no problems catching a bus when we left. The bus was a great option. The car park was so full from the crowds of people attending the event that it seemed to be taking them forever to get out. Fortunately the bus stop is just outside the car park so we jumped on the bus and headed straight back. If you had little kids, this probably wouldn’t be as good as by this time of night, I’m sure I’m not telling anyone anything they don’t already know when I say they may be grumpy and tired and the bus ride might be a little much. If there are a few of you to help carry sleepy children or just assist in this area then I’d still recommend the bus.
