I have always wanted to have somewhere to record travel journeys and share them with family and friends. Gone are the days of “slide nights” where you would visit someone at home and watch their movies or look at their photos. I have found that memories are now often just hidden in the cloud and rarely get looked at. Setting up our Dropbox account years ago made sharing memories so much easier. Photos were on hand whenever I wanted and at the time I was chatting about them.

However, I wanted something more, something I could share with friends and family and thought why not share with others along the way. We all learn something different from our travels and we all have different experiences depending on the type of travel we do, our interests etc.

We also don’t want to lose the memory of what happened so having an outlet to write it all down also makes much more sense to me. I love photo books but again, they are stuck at home and I am never chatting about something at home so they’re not really available when you could use them.

Of course the other benefit is that as I get older and start forgetting!, I can remind myself what I did (so long as I remember the website and how to use the computer hahaha).

I don’t travel for a living and are unfortunately not old enough to retire so our adventures are based around weekends or during scheduled holidays from work.

We have a caravan we love to go “camping” in (ok, it’s not quite roughing it, we do have a shower and toilet in there) but we also like to travel on higher budgets as well. We love cruising, adventure and whatever we can come up with in between.

My partner and I have 5 kids between us from previous marriages and are now grandparents. So, we have a whole range of challenges to work through to get away. From teenagers who are too cool to spend time with us to endless events to attend, we do what we can when we can to sneak off and check out something new.
