I think this is my favourite of the islands we have visited in the South Pacific so far. We were so lucky to get here as well. As I’ve mentioned in other posts, the South Pacific Islands are a little cyclone prone and we found ourselves caught in one on one of our cruises. Our trip to Mystery Island was cancelled and we had to travel to Island of Pines instead. What a magnificent alternative it was!

This is a tender port where the ships anchor in Kuto Bay, located on the southwest of the island.

Our recommendations for a day trip to the Isle of Pines is to relax and enjoy the beaches and snorkeling which are all within walking distance.

We head off snorkeling early and then usually head back to the ship for lunch. This gives us an opportunity to drop off the snorkeling gear so we don’t have to carry it around all afternoon before heading back to enjoy the beaches in the afternoon. It is a truly magical spot.
